RAPTOP - Visitor Management System

We are excited to share that the Hughson Unified School District uses the Raptor Visitor Management System on all campuses to help strengthen school safety for students and staff. This system allows us to know who is on campus at all times in a more efficient way. When visiting a school site, all visitors will be asked to present a valid form of identification at the front office.

How it Works

Upon entering a district building, visitors will be asked to present an ID, such as a driver’s license, that will be entered into the Raptor system. Accepted forms of ID include all state licenses, state identification cards, concealed handgun licenses, consular ID cards, green cards, active military cards, and passport cards (not the full passport). The system does not officially scan other countries’ IDs. The Raptor system checks the visitor’s name and date of birth with the national database of registered sex offenders.

Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit.

Once the visitor’s ID has been scanned once into the Raptor system, each HUSD school building can access the information without having to scan the ID again.

The District recognizes that privacy and confidentiality are important to our visitors and that is why we want to emphasize that the registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the Raptor system. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency.
