California Healthy Kids Survey Information

The California Healthy Kids Survey helps schools meet the current requirements of the federal Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (SDFSC) as embodied in Title IV. The California Department of Education requires that school districts conduct a biennial Healthy Kids Survey of students in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11 or nontraditional schools. This survey is designed to help districts identify and understand the health risks that local youth currently face and the factors that contribute to them.

The California Department of Education collects data on the incidence, prevalence, age of onset, and perception of health risks and social disapproval of drug use by youth, and violence in schools and communities through anonymous student and teacher surveys. The results help make sound decisions regarding the allocation of resources that support prevention and health programs.

Students and Staff at specific sites in Hughson Unified School District will be taking the survey during January 2019. Parents will be able to view the 2018-2019 survey results by clicking the link on this page once they are available.
