Come and see Hughson High School perform Disney’s “The Jungle Book Jr.” during its 7 p.m. community performances on Oct. 21 and 22 at the Ella Webb Theater at Hughson High School. The production features two casts, one for second period and one for third period, with Hughson High School Drama Teacher Eric Anderson serving as director. This semester’s performance brings not only student talent to the stage through acting, dancing, and singing, but also boasts all student choreography for the production, provided by Eloise Akers, Kindal Barstow, Dax Barth, Stella Brown, Erin Lockwood, Mae Olsen, Leila Ramos, Sophia Soriano and Gracynn Wilkens.

See Aiden Ramos and Aaron Wells as Mowgli, struggling to find his place and his truest friends in the wild.

See Josie Maughan and Genevieve Waddell as the faithful Bagheera, trying to keep him out of trouble.

See Hayden Rytting and Josh Olson as the fun-loving and well-intentioned bear Baloo, whose moves are rivaled only by the jazzy villain King Louis (and Queen Luisa) played by Owen Nelson and Sophia Gonzalez.

And see the king of the swingers’ villainy outbeat in his villainy only by Jared Qualls-Piatt and Riley Risen as Kaa and that terrible (but so dignified) beast Sheer Khan played by Abraham Perry and Stella Brown.

As Mowgli finds his way to and from the man village, he’ll encounter the well-known cast of characters from both the animated and live action Disney classics. It’s fun, games and a lot of merriment at Hughson High School Drama’s fall production of “The Jungle Book Jr.” against the backdrop of Stuart Pierce’s dazzling sets illuminated to perfection by Robin Anderson’s lighting design.

"We're so excited for the community to be able to come in here and just have some fun in the jungle with us with King Louis and Sheer Khan and Baloo and Mowgli and just have a good old time," Anderson said.

Hughson High School Drama presents “The Jungle Book Jr.” at the Ella Webb Theater, 7419 E. Whitmore Ave., Hughson. The community performances will follow a staggering schedule of eight performances held by the two casts for area students and community groups. Community performances are at 7 p.m. on Oct. 21 (second period cast) and 22 (third period cast). Tickets will be for sale at the box office prior to the show.
